Whispering Leaves: An Intimate summer concert in Gent
Design Museum Gent
Sunday, 5PM to 8PM
William will perform with harpist Anouk Sturtewagen as part of the Gent Festival Whispering Leaves concert series.
Intimate late summer concerts in the most beautiful Ghent city gardens
In Vienna two hundred years ago, Schubert liked to present his latest songs to a small, intimate circle of friends and acquaintances. We bring these ‘Schubertiades’ from the living room to the garden and invite you to discover some hidden green pearls in the center of Ghent. Whispering Leaves predicts a day full of nature, poetry and dreamy music in a relaxed setting. A return to the Vienna of two hundred years ago, where people loved such long, blissfully relaxing afternoons.
Fifteen singers of all sorts, accompanied by their accompanists, will regale you among the rustling foliage. From casual classical music with Astrid Stockman and Liesbeth Devos to the pure cabaret of Lieven Tavernier and from French chansons to the fantasy language of Spanish singer-songwriter Daniel Lumbreras. Enjoy this paradise day!
First performance at 17h45 and a second at 19h. The venue is the courtyard of the Design Museum in Gent.
