The students of the International Opera Academy (Ghent) in a semi-staged nocturne with Lieder by Gustav Mahler from his celebrated collection Lieder des Knaben Wunderhorn. Other Lieder based on Wunderhorn poetry by Schumann, Zemlinsky and others are also on the programme. Welcome to a multi-coloured world full of folkloristic naivety, satire and fairy tales.
In the foyers of Opera Antwerp and Ghent, you can rely on the 2021 season for a series of lunchtime and cocktail concerts with prominent musicians and soloists from our own house. While the lunchtime concerts are the ideal musical aperitif, the cocktail concerts offer an excellent opportunity to musically catch your breath in a relaxed setting, with glass in hand. Like the rest of our programme, the lunchtime and cocktail concerts are also brimming with themes of night, moonlight and unfulfilled loves.
